Visa/Immigration Fraud
Pause, verify the request through an official channel and never act under pressure.
What is this fraud?
Fake agents or websites promise visas, overseas jobs, admissions or immigration approvals in exchange for money and documents.
How does it happen?
Fraudsters create fake appointment letters, visas, embassy emails or job offers and collect staged payments for processing, medical, travel or security deposits.
Warning signs
Guaranteed visa/job; payment to personal accounts; no verifiable licence/address; fake embassy domain; pressure to submit passport or pay quickly.
How to stay safe
Verify requirements through the relevant embassy/government website and verify the employer/institution independently. Never trust a guarantee of approval.
If you are a victim
Stop payment, notify the bank, call 1930, report online/police and preserve passports/document copies, emails, websites, receipts and agent details.
Evidence to preserve
Keep transaction IDs or UTRs, bank messages, screenshots, chats, emails, phone numbers, profiles, URLs, app details, and the exact date and time. Preserve original files without editing or deleting them.
