Banking and UPI
Check the recipient and amount before authorising payment. A UPI PIN authorises a payment; it is not needed to receive money. Contact your bank using its official app or the number on your card, rather than a number sent by a caller.
Recognise common online frauds, protect your accounts and follow the right steps when an incident happens.
Then notify your bank and report the incident through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.

Verify the lender, issuer and application channel independently. Read disclosed fees and terms; a genuine fee is not automatically fraud. Never pay a personal account merely because someone promises guaranteed approval.
An APK is an Android app installation file. Avoid APKs sent through messages; use the official store and confirm the publisher. Review permissions. Remote access lets another person view or control your device, so do not grant it for an unsolicited banking call.
Use a different strong password for each important account and enable two-factor authentication. Phishing means a deceptive message or website that asks for sensitive details. Open the official app or a known address yourself instead of entering details through that message.
Check seller details and payment terms before paying. Impersonation means pretending to be a person or organisation you trust. Verify urgent requests from friends using a known phone number, and report copied profiles through the platform.
