Job Recruitment Fraud
Pause, verify the request through an official channel and never act under pressure.
What is this fraud?
Fake recruiters or employers collect fees, personal information or banking details by offering non-existent jobs.
How does it happen?
Victims receive fake interview calls, offer letters and onboarding portals, followed by requests for registration, background-check, visa or equipment fees.
Warning signs
Selection without proper interview; free email address; payment before joining; unusually high salary; spelling/domain differences; request for bank login or OTP.
How to stay safe
Verify the opening through the employer's official career page and contact HR using independently found details. Genuine recruiters should not demand payment for a job.
If you are a victim
Stop payment, inform the bank, call 1930, report online and retain the advertisement, email headers, offer letter, website and beneficiary details.
Evidence to preserve
Keep transaction IDs or UTRs, bank messages, screenshots, chats, emails, phone numbers, profiles, URLs, app details, and the exact date and time. Preserve original files without editing or deleting them.
